03Farm stay in Wayanad, Kerala
Riverloft
Riverloft sits on stilts at the far end of the farm, where the ground drops toward the water. One room, a cosy attic above it, a private deck with an outdoor tub, and the river a few steps down.

The place
Overlooking the Kabani, Riverloft was built for people who wanted nothing between them and the farm. The cottage is air conditioned, with one room, a loft above it, a balcony and a private bathroom. The lower bed sleeps up to three and the attic bed two more.
It stands inside a two-acre mixed farm where we grow coffee, pepper, nutmeg, areca, coconut, other spices, vegetables, fruit and rice. Across the road is a 300-acre paddy collective that gives year-round work to the tribal villages around it — walking those fields is the truest thing you can do here.
Evenings are for the deck. A game of cards in the attic, a drink in the open air, the outdoor tub, and a campfire that takes the edge off the chill that settles after dark.

While you're here
Walks along the Kabani
A gate at the end of the farm opens onto the bank. From there the walkways run along the water for as long as you want them to.
The paddy collective
Three hundred acres of paddy farmed collectively, right across the road. Walking through it and meeting the villages that work it is the most honest thing you can do in Wayanad.
Around the farm
Coffee, pepper, nutmeg, areca, coconut and a long list of other spices grow here. Ask, and someone will walk you through it and show you what each one looks like on the tree.
Campfire after dark
A chill settles over the farm in the evening. The firepit is the reason nobody goes inside.

Had a really wonderful stay here. The location is beautiful, right in the middle of the forest, with amazing views and a very peaceful and serene atmosphere. It's the perfect place to get away from the noise and busy life of the city and simply relax surrounded by nature. Waking up surrounded by greenery and spending time in such a peaceful environment was truly refreshing.
Bishal
We loved our stay in Riverloft. The cottage is at the far end of the property, so very quiet. The cottage makes use of the space beautifully. So cozy. Nice sit out. We didn't go anywhere — just spent time relaxing here. The food was amazing. Complimentary breakfast was so good. One of the best meals I've had in an Airbnb.
Roopa
Surrounded by farmland, the property offers a peaceful escape, and the open bathtub was a unique and lovely touch. At night, the fireflies added a magical, natural glow to the surroundings. It was an amazing getaway and a perfect stay in a serene farm setting.
